10,262.2 Kilometer Road Trip

The Trail CruiserOn May 14th, we left Penticton for Lakeview, Ohio to pick up our new trailer. As Lakeview is a mere 8-hour drive from my mother’s place in Toronto, we made that our ultimate destination. On the way eastbound, (before we had the trailer), we overnighted in and saw places around:

  • Spokane, Washington (pics)
  • Butte, Montana (pics)
  • Sheridan, Wyoming (pics)
  • The Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota (pics)
  • Davenport, Iowa
  • and the Air Force Museum (pics) and Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum (pics) near Dayton, Ohio

Gubisi Vist: May 2010After picking up the trailer at RVWholesalers (pics), we spent 3 days at East Harbor State Park near Sundusky, Ohio where we did some reno’s on the trailer (pics) and Jasper went swimming for the first time ever in his first of 5 Great Lakes (pics).

We then headed to Toronto where we stayed 10 days at “Mom’s Driveway Camp” where we visited with her and my cousins who had come from Holland and with our old friend Greg Stack and his family. (Special shout-outs to Kim, Katylyn and Vicki!!)

Ros and Jo AnnWe also had a lovely visit (pics) with our godson, Gavin, his sister, Megan and their parents Andrew and Carol. As always, it was wonderful to see them and Carol’s parents, Laura and Jim M.

After leaving Toronto, we headed north to Orillia (Severn), Ontario where we ate Webers hamburgers and spent a night with my best girlfriend from high school, Jo Ann, whom I hadn’t seen in 17 years. Amazing how neither of us had changed one iota.

From Orillia we were westbound again. Places we stayed at and/or visited on the drive west included:

I will add links to this post as posts are added about the individual places… or not. :-)

Here’s the map of our travels…
