SEO 101: Beyond the Basics

SEO BasicsA phenomenal amount of material has been written about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) over the past decade (plus).

Although much of the material is still applicable, the amount of out-dated SEO tactics that are still being touted as best-practice is growing.

The other day, I read SEO 101: Beyond the Basics, a 31-page complimentary white paper / ebook that outlines current best practices that companies of all sizes can use to increase site visibility, increase traffic, and most importantly, improve conversion rates.

In this very well-written ebook, you will learn:

  • How search engines make money (and why it matters)
  • Why you need to know your audience and what they want
  • All about keyword usage
  • Best practices for writing post content on your blog
  • How to optimize posts, pages and your entire site
  • and more…

I appreciate that this book emphasizes the techniques and tips that I teach at Rosalind Gardner’s Academy for blogging affiliates. :-)

If you are not already a member of our Academy, pick up SEO 101: Beyond the Basics for free now. You will have to either supply your info or login through LinkedIn to access it, but it’s worth it.

Get the facts about what works now, so that you too can increase traffic to your website / blog.

I’m as eager as the next guy to bone up on the SEO methods.

However, I’m not so keen on filling out the equivalent of an online bank application with name, address, phone number. They want company name, position, industry, job title and your website.

Only thing they didn’t ask for is social security number. Of course, that might be on page 2?

      Hi Chris,

I totally understand what you are saying. However, TradePub requests that you provide the following info ONCE to access all of their clients information…

      Work Email
      First Name
      Last Name
      Phone Number
      Street Address
      Postal/Zip Code

      Company Name
      Company Size

      Company Industry

      Company Sub Industry
      Job Title

      Job Area

      Job Function
      Job Level

It should be obvious that they are a lead-generation service… and perhaps something from which we can all learn about business? :-)

      Just sayin’

Whilst I would like to learn more about SEO, and I am happy to provide the usual name and email address to receive this type of material, I am not prepared to provide full personal details including phone number as required in this case. That is more than would normally be required for an actual purchase. In an age of rampant identity theft and with increasing uncertainty over online security to ask for so much information seems unreasonable. Just a view.
