I discovered what could be a serious problem for Clickbank sellers while writing the follow-up to ‘Humor Writer Cries in Beer as Pitch to Affiliates “Strikes Out”‘. The article detailed Dan Reinhold's improvements to “WAHumor Way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the follow-up post, I planned to include PAYOUT information gathered from the Clickbank Marketplace about Dan's ebook. Payout information includes commission amount, % referred, and the category in which a product is listed.<\/p>\n

Using Clickbank's BETA search feature, I typed ‘WAHumor' into the box and searched through ‘All Categories.'<\/p>\n

No luck.<\/p>\n

Then I tried ‘WAHumorWay', ‘WAHumor Way', and ‘Reinhold'.<\/p>\n

No luck. No luck and… you guessed it – No luck.<\/p>\n

I then tried my new favorite Clickbank search tool, CBNichebuilder, hoping it would find Dan's book.<\/p>\n

Again – NO luck!<\/p>\n

It occurred to me that Dan may have listed the book under a different title so I would have to resort to a page-by-page search through the Marketplace of Clickbank Sellers.<\/p>\n

Because his book is about home business, I started searching through the ‘Home Business' subcategory under the main category of ‘Money & Employment.'<\/p>\n

I found 347 products listed under that category (click-by-click through 35 pages) and not one of them was Dan's book.<\/p>\n

I was through wasting my time, so I sent Dan an email and asked him where it was listed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He responded a little later to say that he couldn't find it either!<\/p>\n

Aaargh.<\/p>\n

The next morning I received the following email from Dan<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

This is from my account page:<\/p>\n

Product category: -> uncategorized
\nTitle \/ brand: “WAHumor Way To Work At Home Book Series”
\nDescription: “Guides and resources for those considering or starting a work at home business”<\/p>\n

Does that work?<\/p>\n

Dan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Um… nope!<\/p>\n

“Uncategorized” apparently doesn't work if you want affiliates to find your product in the Marketplace and promote it!<\/strong><\/p>\n

If YOUR product is currently uncategorized, contact Clickbank today to have it categorized. It will then be listed in the Clickbank Marketplace within 5 – 7 days.<\/p>\n
