{"id":5355,"date":"2009-11-30T18:06:41","date_gmt":"2009-12-01T03:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rosalindgardner.com\/blog\/?p=5355"},"modified":"2012-01-12T08:45:16","modified_gmt":"2012-01-12T16:45:16","slug":"make-money-with-youtube-the-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rosalindgardner.com\/blog\/make-money-with-youtube-the-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Make Money with YouTube: The Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/rosalindgardner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/youtube.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"youtube\" width=\"256\" height=\"256\" style=\"float: right; padding: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" border=\"0\">I just went through the process of submitting my video for revenue sharing consideration and discovered the rules and process for making money with your YouTube videos &#8212; and I LIKE them considering how much time I spent dealing with copyright infringement issues&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the basics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It's NOT OK to use someone else's material even if you&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>edit together or &#8220;mash-up&#8221; other works.<\/li>\n<li>alter it by 10%, 20%, 30%, etc.<\/li>\n<li>only use 30 seconds of a song or video clip.<\/li>\n<li>found it on the internet.<\/li>\n<li>nobody sent you a copyright notice.<\/li>\n<li>paid for it.<\/li>\n<li>give proper attribution (credits).<\/li>\n<li>are only singing the words of a favorite copyrighted song.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is copyright infringement and your video will be deleted!<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to monetize your video<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After reviewing the Agreement you will be asked for some information about your video.<\/li>\n<li>Any information you can provide about the source of the music or visual images used in your video &#8212; and whether they have been included in your video with the permission of the source or person appearing in your video &#8212; will help the process move faster.<\/li>\n<li>DO NOT submit any TV shows, music videos, music concerts, or commercials without the express permission of the producer, unless they consist entirely of content you created yourself.<\/li>\n<li>Only eligible videos in your account may be invited for revenue sharing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Processing your video can take time. Please be patient!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Once processed, one of the following will happen:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If approved, advertising will appear with the video.<\/li>\n<li>If rejected, the video will be deleted from YouTube. You will receive an email notification if your video is rejected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How and when you get paid<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After you link your YouTube account with Google AdSense you will be paid through your AdSense account<\/li>\n<li>You'll be paid when<\/li>\n<li>Your earnings reach the payment threshold<\/li>\n<li>There are no holds on your account<\/li>\n<li>You remain in compliance with AdSense policies, YouTube policies and Community Guidelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Simple, commonsense stuff &#8212; for MOST of us! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Comments, questions or suggestions?
