Call me nuts.
I turned down a 7.5K consulting job the other day with 2 fellows who wanted me to help them get an affiliate site and PPC campaigns up and running to profitability. (Actually, they'd initially offered me 10K and I offered to do it for 7.5K.)
On the surface, the job would have been relatively simple.
One of them had read my book and already had a great understanding of the affiliate marketing process that I've used successfully since 1998.
Furthermore, the niche they picked was great – I could easily have helped them turn a profit in that sector.
Moreover, I LOVE working with clients who plan to do things right from the outset – and that's incorporate PPC advertising into their affiliate marketing plan.
So, why did I turn them down?
Well, I turned the job down for a few reasons.
First of all, already feeling somewhat overburdened with work, I didn't want to add production of a complete week-by-week, step-by-step audio-visual webinar series to my workload.
Too, any training course I give would have to be absolutely perfect for my clients, and even ‘near perfect' would take me many months to produce. I knew they didn't want to wait that long.
But most importantly – the ‘perfect' training course that meets their needs already exists, and is available for only 6% of what they were willing to pay me.
So, this is what I told them.
“Get PPC Classroom, go through the course, and I promise that you'll be fully prepared to do exactly what you want. Better yet, you can use what you save to to build your business and drive copious amounts of traffic to your site“.
I also told them that if they still wanted one-on-one consulting tailored to their specific needs after going through the course, I'd be happy to do that – at no cost for the first hour – provided they purchased the course through my affiliate link.
Despite the chance to save 7K, they were still somewhat reluctant with this option because they weren't familiar with the producers of the course or the quality of their work.
So I told them that the trainers, Anik Singal and Jeremy Palmer, are both proven Super Affiliates as well as great friends of mine, and I would vouch for the quality of their work to the ends of the earth.
Jeremy in particular is a ‘detail guy‘ and the course contents demonstrate that they have every base covered. See the course contents.
On hearing that, they thanked me for my honest recommendation and agreed to buy the PPC Classroom course when it launches on September 25th.
And I'll give you a chance to get an ever BETTER deal…
If you are one of the first 10 people to buy PPC Classroom through my affiliate link, you will get TWO hours of my consulting time (798 value) plus a softcover copy of my Super Affiliate Handbook. Everyone else will receive an hour. See the bonus rules.
I've seen a lot of affiliate training courses come and go over the years and in my opinion, PPC Classroom will be recommended as ‘best of the best' for a very long time to come… at least by those in the know. 🙂
