I LOVE the StudioPress Genesis framework and their plethora of beautiful child themes. What I HATE is seeing folks lose potential commissions because they don't bother to change out the footer links which go straight to StudioPress
You can make money on those links!
In the following video I show you how to change your StudioPress theme footer links to affiliate links via their affiliate program on ShareaSale.
Here is the code that I use in my footer:
<div>
<p><a href="#wrap" rel="nofollow">Return to top of page</a></p>
</div>
<div>

Cheers,

Thank you for this. I didn’t even think about changing out those links. It’s done now.
Hi Ros, do you know where is the actual code is in the core files?
Thanks
Andy
I stumbled across the footer video too, and having just upgraded to the Streamline theme getting everything back in place has been a challenge. Now I am going to dig into your blog hoping for more excellent StudioPress tips!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your idea!!!
Thanks Ros good point, I just redid my blog with the Genesis Fairway theme and fixed this up π
My pleasure Dave. Glad to hear I could help.
Cheers,
Ros
It seems so obvious yet, yet we never remember to put our Affiliate links on the footer! Just stumbled on this post by chance, and I’ve already changed mine π Thanks for the Info Ros!
Hi Eugene,
Glad to have helped and hope someone clicks and buys through one of those links as a bonus! π
Cheers,
Ros
Thanks for sharing… you’ve saved me a lot of trouble.
Wonderful tip! The video really helped me a lot! I’ll be using StudioPress from now on. Thanks!
Thanks Ros. I wondered how to change out those footer links! I’ll go check out those plug-ins. π
Becky
Perfect!
I also love StudioPress but why not make money from sending readers where the StudioPress link wants them to go anyway.
Off to change some links now.
Hi!! I don’t see a video site. Thanks
Hi Sherron,
It’s back now, thanks.
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Rosalind, For those who don’t want the overload of the Open Hook plugin, you can use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-edits/
That will give you the options you want to change the footer as well as the the standard post meta info.
Hi Herbert-Jan,
You’re right there. I use Simple Edits for the meta and footer here on NPT. But I also use Simple Hooks because it gives you way more latitude for working with sidebars and such (I’m rarely thrilled with the widgets are coded).
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Ros, Thanks for the tip! You mentioned you were going to post the code on your site. I can’t find it, but may be looking with my nose. Where is it? Thanks, Mike
Ooops. You’re right. Will do just as soon as I get to a real computer … on the iPad at the moment.
I change any links that will give me more money and traffic..its just the smart things to do.

Have you made out of the affiliate link (At the bottom)? I always question how much anyone uses the links at the bottom I thought they were mainly for SEO purposes.
Hi Andrew,
You definitely get clicks and sales from those links at the bottom. Even if they are few compared with those higher on the page, you don’t want to waste the opportunity. Take care of the dimes… π
Cheers,
Ros
