Affiliate marketing in September probably brings ‘Back to school supplies' immediately to mind. True, they are the most advertised and promoted items in September, particularly by mommy bloggers and any affiliate whose audience includes parents or college students.
Back-to-school supplies may consist of:
- arts and crafts materials
- backpacks
- binders
- clothing
- highlighters
- iPads or other tablets
- laptops
- paper
- pens and pencils
- planners
- printers
- shoes
- textbooks
Most of the affiliate networks post specific links to merchants who have back-to-school promotions. The following graphic shows Shareasale Upcoming Holidays list, which can always be found on their main login page.

Your readers may be in the midst of getting their kids back to school, but what events are they actually thinking about and planning for?
With the autumnal equinox on the horizon, I'd just bet that they're thinking about Halloween, Thanksgiving and their winter preparations too! Don't forget your snowbirds who are already making plans to head to warmer climes starting in mid-October.
Showing people how to go green, save energy and money can be profitable in almost every niche.
Forward-looking affiliates will be planning their marketing strategies for October, November and December.

very best wishes to you
Patricia
Hi Patricia,
I can’t imagine why you would think it is all over for affiliate marketing. Just take a look at all the conferences held for bloggers who monetize their writing. 🙂
Cheers,
Ros
Thank you for putting together these lists of holiday/commemorative days so that we don’t have to. For example, today is National Friendship Day and I was able to work that into the importance of friendship on brain health.
Thank you for sharing Deane!
Hello Rosalind,
I bought the SAH back in 2005, and I have not one regret! Before then I had been picking up bits and pieces of information about starting a Online business, some good some not so good. But to date this is one of the best tools I have in my collection. SAH answered every question I had about Affiliate Marketing and then some. I don’t think I’ll ever be as organized as you, ‘arranging even groceries in alphabetical order’ lol. I also had the updated Version but I lost it in a computer crash.
I didn’t put what I was learning into practice back then. But I’ve started reading it again. The information provided in SAH is just as relevant today as it was when I first read it. Even more so. I’m on a budget and this is the best book I’ve brought. Plus there are tons of links and resources directing you to whatever is needed. You could charge way more but you’ve made it affordable.
Thank you Rosalind
Robin
So glad I could help, Robin!
Hey Ros
Where have you been?? ALL your websites have been down for a few days – what happened? Tried emailing you and that bounced back as well!
Great to see you are back on line. If you need a really great person to handle your hosting, speak to Chris Botterill. He’s at Genex marketing based in cranbrook, bc. I’m not an affiliate of his and he has absolutely no idea I am giving you his name, but I really do recommend him. genexmarketing.com/
Hope you stay on line now
best
Penny
Thanks Penny.. that was a bad time. All is well now though, working with a great hosting company.
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Ros,
Yes, it’s easy to think about September only in terms of “back to school clothes, and back to school supplies” when clearly there are many more things going as well. Thank you as usual for the good
reminder!
Thanks, Jane!
Thanks Ros,
great ideas and advices as usual 🙂 I look forward to my first real holiday season in this business and try to prepare already!
Ros,
WOW! Who knew there were so many holiday opportunities available! Thank you for the information and for doing the research for us!
I look forward to continually reading your blog for great information! Thank you!
Ernie
Hey Ernie,
Thanks SO kindly for your comments and kudos!
Cheers,
Ros
I really thought October was Hispanic Heritage month.
This is also the month to really get the last minute holiday sites spruced up for the big season coming.
Hey Lauryn,
You’re absolutely right… this is the time to be looking ahead to the major holidays!
Cheers,
Ros
National Blueberry Popsicle Month…. really!?
How random is that, and Rosalind, where do you come up with these things? Do you find all this on Google Reader? You make this look soo easy. I appreciate the random things. They are great at keeping life from being too mundane, so thank you for the ideas and the giggle.
Hey Kimberly,
I like random and crazy. The crazier the better. I think folks respond to that as well.
Cheers,
Ros
