Here's a nice boost for affiliates who produce quality content to promote products on the UK version of eBay.
eBay UK announced yesterday that as of February 1st, 2008, it will no longer compensate for Paid Search traffic from Google, Yahoo or MSN, if directly linked to an ebay.co.uk page — and that any earnings from revenue or ACRUs generated through direct Paid Search as of that date will be reversed.
The ban applies only to traffic purchased from Google, Yahoo, MSN & any of their content networks, such as Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher Network & MSN ContentAds. Direct linking via Paid Search campaigns on all other search engines is still permitted.
On the bright side, eBay UK plans to announce a new payment structure that includes a pay increase for its affiliates ‘very soon'.
