UPDATE: The BubblePly service is no longer available. Please watch How to Add an Affiliate Link to a YouTube Video instead.
Do you make your own videos to promote products online as an affiliate? Does your merchant allow you to use their videos that are posted to YouTube, Blip.TV, Google Video, Metacafe and other video portals WITHOUT providing you with a way to embed your affiliate links?
Well, an easy and free way to embed your affiliate links in videos is by using the online service BubblePly.
You can add a link to the bottom of a video, or embed hyperlinks in text. When your site visitor clicks on the link, a new browswer window opens and the video continues playing.
Here's how to embed your affiliate links into a YouTube video:
- Copy the URL of a video you want to add a link to into the text form at BubblePly.com and click ‘Next'.
- Pause the video and get your affiliate link.
- Start the video again, hit ‘Bubble' and choose your desired bubble format.
- Enter your text.
- Enter your affiliate link.
- Drag the duration buttom right across to the end of the video.
- Click ‘Done' and you're done.

In this video I take you through each step of adding your affiliate link into a video using BubblePly.com.
Here is the caveat (there's ALWAYS at least one, isn't there?).
It is best to create your own promotional videos as not all merchants will permit you to use their videos for this purpose.
Of course, if you're one of my affiliates, I have videos for you to use to promote the Super Affiliate Handbook! Just go to the affiliate program news site to learn more. ๐
Hi Roz,
I know this post is old and I hope you still respond to these.
This tip works great for videos embedded on your own website from Youtube, but what about videos directly on Youtube? How can I insert a clickable link on my own video & upload to Youtube so that anyone who views on Youtube could click my link?
Thank you,
Brian
This would be really helpful for me to get on the track of promoting my affiliate links..Hats off to you Ros for sharing such a great tool. Hope to see some new ideas from you.
Hey Ros, great info and solution to a dilemma I had been pondering. I have a problem though where the video that I embed from BubblyPly on my WordPress Blog just shows as a blank box. When I embed the regular video from You Tube it’s fine. Any ideas what may be happening?
It is a very difficult problem for us that we dont know how to show our weblinks to the videos but thanks you got me to know about it!as we all know that having the links in our videos has a very great benefits for us!
Hi Rosaline
Thanks for writing about our BubblePLY application.
I would like to update you that we are launching a new affiliate program based on video- http://www.affiliateply.com
AffiliatePLY is a web-based platform where advertisers can upload their video ads to the network and online publishers/affiliates can select the embeddable video ads of their choice to include on their website.
If you would like to join as an advertiser to our network (Super Affiliate Handbook), you are more than welcome.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Avishay
Hello Avishay,
Thanks for pointing me to AffiliatePly. Looks good and I’ll have to investigate the option further for my own business. ๐

Thanks for the tip, I’ve got the get this video thing going!
Randy
Hi Randy,
You’re welcome and yes, the traffic from YouTube is pretty nice. Flickr too.
Cheers,
Ros
I was not aware of the fact that we could add links to videos. There are enormous technologies coming up and this one is really great. Good to see that an example was also given.
Midway through last year I wondered how people put links into their videos. The information you provided answered my question and its such a simple process. Thanks!
Gerri,
You’re most welcome – my pleasure.
Cheers,
Ros
I feel like an idiot but too many questions that shouldnt be ignored.
1)will this video be viewable with the bubble on youtube once its done?
doesnt appear to.
2) can anyone show me where there are instructions to embed on facebook>?
3) so the video is permanently linked to BubblePly (to recruit new subscribers)
I see how i can mask the link in an email. but thats it
Hi Allen,
The link just appears as a normal link the way I did it, because I pulled it down to the bottom and widened it out fully.
If you just leave the bubble in the middle of the video, yes, it should appear as such.
The videos that you make are really for placement on your own website… that’s the best place to have them anyway… as you know from having read my book of course. ๐
Cheers,
Ros
I think this is a great bit of advice. Thanks again. Bubbleply and fly high on the tube.
Hi Roz
My little secret’s out. I’ve been using them for the last 3 years. Love it
My apologies for exposing your secret, Cherie. Let’s hope not everyone is using the same videos that you use! ๐
Cheers,
Ros
Hi, this looks promising but your sample video is just a black box to me. I can see the upper youtube video fine. Lovely voice btw.
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the voice compliment… too many years of smoking, I think.
Sorry about the black box.. I removed the example in this case and will try again later.
Cheers,
Ros
Another great bit of information, thanks as always.
My pleasure Andre!
Cheers,
Ros
