Hi everybody,

I suppose it wasn't the point in these cases, but I like to say this here: many of the supposed defects in nowadays electronic devices are NOT defects, but many times it only needs a reset. And I mean: a RESET.
That's not a quick off/on switch, but a switch off for about 10 to 15 minutes!! Not with a reset-button, but UNPLUGGING from the net - or removing batteries (All tension in elco's and other components needs to be flowed down to zero).
So now you know: is it really gone? Okè, just bad luck. But do not too quick decide to throw it out of the window...
BTW about batteries and accu's: often they only SEEM to be empty, but only need to be removed and replaced, for a better contact.
Yes, it is all about YOUR money... and our environment! ;)

fine regards,
Leo S.

Hi Ros,

Know this feeling well. My dinosaur monitor all of a sudden made a noise, and it went black recently at the worst time. I fooled around with it for 2 hours, and realized it was toast. Got almost 6 years out of it, and like you, would have gladly used it another 6.
Anyway, went off to the mall very reluctantly and in a huff to get another one.

I got a nice new wide screen, and the colors just jump out at me. The clarity is unreal. Amazing what I thought was ok already all this time.

Same kind of thing happened with my dinosaur printer. Though still barely useable, it was just a matter of time, so a month ago bought a brand new printer as well. This certainly isn't the cadillac of printers, but it sure feels like it because of some of the great features that came with it.

Though no-one enjoys added expenses, these things do happen. Kind of gave me a lift just having some new equipment around though. Makes the computer time that much more enjoyable.

On Saturday I turned on my computer and nothing happened other than the fan came on. I tried several times with the same results.

Took the side off (desktop) and pushed every connection I could find to make sure everything was plugged in. Tried it again, same result.

Started trying to figure out how I was going to buy a new Mac (no more PC's for this boy) but right after Xmas is not a flush time in the cash dept.

Tried it one more time before suiting up to go to the mall when up it came! Still working, but I fear dear old mother (board) is not well.
